What is Control Arm?

Control arm belongs to suspension part of automotive,it is a suspension link between the chassis and the suspension hub or upright that carries the wheel. Simply speaking, it controls a wheel’s vertical travel, enabling it to go up or down when driving over the irregularities of a road surface. A rubber bushing attached on a control arm can control the position of the outboard end in only a single degree, maintaining the radial distance from the inboard mount. Although not deliberately free to move, the bushing does not control the arm from moving back and forth as it’s worked via a rudius rod or link.
